Charcoal ink pulled downward in long parallel channels, the way rainwater finds its own path down glass or a rock face. Rill is the most directional piece in the series — everything in it moves the same way, gathering here and there into a single dark pool where the water paused longest.

Nocturne is a series of ten abstract watercolour murals, painted wet-on-wet in a single warm charcoal ink. The ten share one palette and one hand; what changes is what the water does. Hung together they read as one body of work. Chosen alone, each holds a wall on its own. Drift, Veil, Reed, Horizon, Strata, Fold, Bloom, Rill, Ripple and Lichen.

The strong diagonal grain gives Rill real direction, so it suits a wall you want to draw the eye along — a stairwell, a long hallway, or behind a bed where the movement reads as calm rather than restless. It works equally well in a hotel corridor or a considered restaurant dining room.
